Performance art is characterized by a combination of life and art. Without pre-determined plots or scripts, techniques such as music, art, physical expression, etc. are implemented. At the same time, it'll be also done with the intention of bringing the audience, together in the creative process.

Still, this is mighty broad, encompassing all theater, dance, musical, and ritual performance throughout human history. And that's kind of the point. Performance art might be sometimes seen as an intrusion of a foreign body into the art world.

Here we present you with a brief history of performance art and attempt to sway you to its potential charms.
