Fact and 180 Studios present Future Shock, a major new exhibition of leading international artists and collectives working at the cutting-edge of audio-visual technology, opening from 28 April to 28 August 2022. Blurring the boundaries between the physical and the virtual, Future Shock presents immersive installations that transform 180 Studios’ subterranean spaces through mesmerising and pioneering digital technology – from generative and interactive algorithms, AI, and 3D digital mapping, to spellbinding laser work, holographic projections, and groundbreaking electronic music.

Including numerous the UK and world premieres, Future Shock features those pioneers at the apex of sound and vision who are redefining space to create a new kind of artistic experience: Ryoichi Kurokawa, UVA, Caterina Barbieri & Ruben Spini, Lawrence Lek, Actual Objects, Gener8ion (Romain Gavras & Surkin), Weirdcore, Gaika, Nonotak, Ben Kelly, Hamill Industries, object blue & Natalia Podgorska, Ib Kamara and Ibby Njoya.

The Studios are housed at 180 The Strand, an iconic Brutalist building that has been transformed into a cultural hub. About Fact Fact is a contemporary cultural institution blurring the boundaries between the physical and digital. With a global digital audience of over 1 million readers, in 2020 Fact launched an acclaimed bi-annual print magazine to showcase the new wave of artists spearheading a cultural movement centered around ground-breaking electronic art. Future Shock will build upon the success of previous exhibitions co-curated by Fact at 180 over the past five years including LUX (2021), RYOJI IKEDA (2020) , UVA – Other Spaces (2019), Strange Days (2018), Arthur Jafa – Love is the Message (2017) and The Infinite Mix (2016).
