숨쉬는 건축: 재생건축과 도시재생

온그라운드 갤러리에서는 조병수건축연구소의 <숨쉬는 건축: 재생건축과 도시재생>전을 개최한다. 조병수건축연구소는 광화문의 중앙청 프로젝트와 F1963, 네 조각 집, 그리고 최근 진행 중인 인천항 곡물창고 재생 프로젝트 상상플랫폼 등 일련의 프로젝트를 통해 기존의 역사문화적 문맥과 물성적 특성에서 출발하는 건축을 추구해 왔다. 이번 전시에서는 지난 30년간 작업한 일련의 재생건축 및 도시재생 프로젝트 12개를 소개하고, 건축가 조병수와 그의 연구소의 젊은 건축가들이 생각하는 재생건축에 대한 가치를 공유하며, 재생건축과 도시재생 자체의 의미를 넘어 사회적, 문화적 연대감을 형성할 수 있는 방법을 모색하는 기회를 제공한다.
The Onground Gallery presents BCHO Architects’ from February 28 through March 16.
Over the years, BCHO Architects has been consistently involved in reshaping new urban values and visions through a series of urban renewal projects. Their body of work, including the Capitol Building, F1963, the Four Piece House, and a recent ongoing renewal project for the Port of Incheon draws upon a humanistic understanding of surrounding urban forces and context, both material and immaterial. introduces a collection of major urban renewal projects from BCHO Architects. Architect Byoung Soo Cho and the young architects of his firm seek to share the rich potentials of urban renewal projects in our society and to foster an active dialogue across spectrums of history, society, architecture, and our collective cultural experience.
