Espacio Gallery presents Daily Encounters, a collaborative group show of five artists based in East London, exposing the nuances of everyday occurrences. Through moving images, photography, and sound, their perceptions of human behaviours are explored.
Together, the works question the physiological and emotional bonds one can form with the empty spaces that surround us. From the collective to the individual, the self and the other are explored as a territory of expressions and sensations, against the backdrop of digital statelessness. At first glance, what might seem as a series of common day-to-day scenes will unfold as a contemplative questioning of what often goes unnoticed. Daily Encounters seeks to highlight the unseen and the unheard of our contemporary surroundings. In sharing these intimate moments, the works embody our current longing for a shared understanding.
