A free series of online events exploring the knowledge, resources and histories of people-powered community organising for social change, 17-20 May 2021

Over four days, artists, arts workers and all those interested in community building and organising are invited to learn, share and exchange knowledge through participatory workshops, conversations and our series opening lecture.

We are honoured to be joined by a formidable group of community organisers and artists/curators who organise: Dr Adam Elliott-Cooper (UK), Charlotte Bence (UK), Quinsy Gario (Netherlands), Natasha Ginwala (Germany/Sri Lanka), Nim Ralph (UK) and Jack Tan (UK). Events are hosted by Dance Art Foundation Artist Council member ‘Funmi Adewole and co-curators Amaara Raheem and Joe Moran.

Each of our four online events tackle a different ‘How to…’ theme:

Our opening public lecture ‘How to Organise’ with Charlotte Bence, Industrial Organiser and Student Coordinator at Equity UK, offers an informative, contextual overview of different approaches to organising and when one approach may be more useful than another. Hosted by ‘Funmi Adewole.

Hosed by Amaara Raheem.
