Nicholas Turner is an established British painter who works with real and imagined themes from his studio in the Brecon Beacons, Wales. His work is held in public collections globally, including the Royal Collection.

Turner's passion is painting, largely in oil on canvas or board, inspired by landscapes and interiors he experiences through UK and foreign travel. Other interests include music, particularly jazz; hence the John Coltrane-inspired title of this show: ‘Moment’s notice’.

The title of this show describes the capturing of an image, but not the process by which Nicholas develops his paintings. Nicholas often quotes a past Art lecturer who inspired through encouragement to take risks and explore territory unknown. ‘You have to be ready at a ‘moment’s notice’ to react to the unexpected, applying learned skills to create something new and visually explanatory’.
