MMCA Residency Changdong, which has been supporting art practice of national and international artists since its foundation in 2002, holds an exhibition No Man's Land from November 17th through December 4th, 2016. International resident artists, who were selected through various residency programs of MMCA Residency Changdong, present past and new works which have been newly produced during their residency in Korea. Through 「International Artists Fellowship Program」this year, MMCA Residency Changdong has expanded its global network into Latin America by inviting established artists from Argentina, Chile, and Brazil as resident artists, along with its 「International Artists Residency Program」 and 「Mondriaan Fund Fellowship Program」.
The number of people who emigrate to new lands for political, socioeconomic, or personal reasons, and that of people who are against this wave of migration have been increasing. In No Man's Land, which refers to a territory occupied by nobody, seven international artists - Lisa Myeong-Joo Keighery (Australia), Máximo Corvalán-Pincheira (Chile), Enrique Ramírez (Chile), Igor Vidor (Brazil), Tyler Stefanich (US), Tim Breukers (Netherlands), and Pablo Lobato (Brazil) - will present their work in a variety of forms, such as video, installation, sculpture, and performance. On the opening day of the exhibition, there will be several opening events, including opening performances, workshops, and open studios where artists open their studios and share their work process with the public.
