Film Festival Kyiv is looking for new faces and non-standard solutions that meet the challenges of our time. Mihael Zablodski, the winner of the film festival, graduated from the Polygraph Institute (Faculty of Graphics) and is currently working on film and painting.

In my paintings, I show the things to which we seldom pay attention, like different weather conditions that introduce life into ordinary places, the ones we usually pass without noticing. Rain, snow, radiant sunlight and fog change the shapes, outlines and, of course, colors of the city, which we are used to perceiving as a static image.
Through color contrasts, ethereal outlines and forms, powerful brushstroke dynamic, we obtain the feeling of elusiveness. Buildings naturally change over long time periods, but even a temporary weather shift can alter our perception so much, that we feel like we're in a completely different place.
This film-production was based on the background of his everyday life. His latest film, 'FLIGHT,' was also completed by more than 550 GOUACHE works.
The inspiration behind this animation was the beauty of the artist’s native city, Kyiv. While the entire piece is a journey around the most memorable Kievan districts, the vague brushstrokes and the constant change of viewpoint evoke the topics of flowing time, constant change of the environment, and memories that preserve a lost moment for the eternity. The dramatic transformation of the main heroine into a strong bird and back would be reminiscent of ancient Ukrainian archetypes of femininity and in the same time hint at freedom from stereotypes, the freedom achieved through dance.
His goal of saying 'New Experience, a feeling of eternity, of something beyond of our world' is to be running toward a new experiment.
