Artist Statement 
‘삶’이란 급변하는 사회와 알 수 없는 관계의 틈 속에서 살아가는 것이 아닐까,복잡한 듯 보이지만 결국 연결과 연속성을 거쳐 변화와 성숙한 삶을 도야하는 곳일 테다. 우리는 보이는 것만을 믿으려하는 즉, ‘삶’=‘현실’속에 지나친다. 하지만 보지 못하는 그리고 알지 못하는 ‘관계’와 ‘감정’처럼, 형태가 아니한 것들의 존재가치를 모른 채 흘러간다.
지난 날, 예민한 시기에 ‘나’를 내 자신이 감당하지 못한 걸까 아니면 타인에 대한 의식과 잦은 배려로 만들어진 껍데기였을까. 자연스레 시선은 ‘혼자’라는 초점에 기울였고 타인과 교류, 관계는 쉬운 일이 아니었다. =습관적으로 사람이 가까워지는 것에 당연했고 멀어지는 것에 두려움을 느꼈다.어쩌면 나는 사람이 오고 가는 것에 대해 깊게 마음을 두었던 것 같다. 
그런 불연속성과 불안 속에서도 ‘나’ 그리고 ‘우리’들은 결국 각각의 이야기로 가동되면서 또 유기적으로 연결되는 이 삶을 살아갈 것이다. 사실 어느 하나 명쾌한 답은 없어도 관계와 교류의 과정에서 발생한 불순물부터 희망적인 내면을 담고자하는 나의 미흡한 감정처리와 시선이 닿기를 바란다.   <이 혜 빈>

Artist Statement 
:find 'me' in 'relationship'Since 2017, I started working on ‘emotion’ and ’relationship’. The process began with the repetition of late returns to school. I happened to see the rotting apples in the basket lying in the kitchen. The various forms of decaying apples were truly amazing. Meanwhile, feeling that this form looked like a person's inner self, it gave me inspiration and soon began the fruit series at 2017 and now it led to abstract artworks. 
The early version of the fruit series, "Yet and Ink," was thought to be 'There are various fruits in the world,' and collected photos of the various fruits as well as pictures of rotting away. While gathering decaying fruit images and video references, I first started with monotype technique, which is involved using acrylic and oil painting on acrylicplate, Then after that tried other various art media in order to express rough artworks.   
 However, as time went by some thoughts flocked into my head whether I was painting my own pictures or just copying photo images. Focusing on the subject of outer and inner, many fruits were rotting around in cell phone albums and instead of being various if began to feel cliche. At that moment, I pressed Delete and wanted to express the fruit series more different rather than folding it. First of all, I erased the image of the fruit, a figurative form that everyone knows. And I while doing the drawing, I painted the visual fruit and writing about people at the some time. The two sides of the human, "the true inner form," "the lack of relationships" and "the fragment of memory" were pouring into my mind. In fact, since I was already experiencing emotional consumption in relationship I felt that I could solve subject in more concrete and free and abstract way than before because I was tired of the emotional consumption and relationship. The last print making technique that I used is “Collagraphy”. The reason is because I thought that the way I ripped out the plate without attaching the material would be more appropriate for my own expression of emotion and decided that it would be more effective to show the stage and feeling of emotion with 'using color.' 
Nietzsche once said. 'One can promise action, but one cannot promise emotion.’
Perhaps the identity formed through 'emotion' and 'relationship' is thought to be 'I.' We meet so many people and share our feelings with them Life is said to learn not only from family, but also from many people. But this learning may also be divided depending on how I accept things (Can it be 'positive'? Or 'negative?') After all we live on our lives we experience lots of trial and error, and become mature in the process Through this, we go through the maturation step in our inner emotions. So as I mature, l will someday eventually with find a true form of myself depicted in a map. Finally, I would like to emphasize that there is truely no perfection in front of emotion and relationship.<LEE HAI BIN>
