아웃사이트는 종로구 혜화동에 위치한 예술공간으로 2016년 10월에 문을 열었습니다.
아웃사이트는 보편적 대의, 통계적/추상적 수치로 계측되기 어려운 오늘의 현상, 혹은 이야기들을 예술 혹은 비예술의 형태로 수용, 전시하는 것을 공간의 목적으로 합니다.
이를 위해 아웃사이트는 제도와 시장의 관습적 동일성 아래 박제되지 않는 살아있는 예술의 유통을 지향하며, 이러한 예술로의 전환 가능성을 지닌 동시대의 모든 비예술을 지지합니다.
아웃사이트는 수학적 좌표로 환원되지 않고 관료적 조직으로 포섭되지 않는 그리고 내부적 언어의 반복으로도 표상되지 않는, 번역되지 않는 것들을 화두로 가져오는 것에 관심이 있으며
또한, 그것들이 제도 속에 놓여짐으로써 새로이 생겨나는 경계의 관계에도 세심한 주의를 기울입니다.
아웃사이트는 위의 원칙으로 국내 외 미술 인력, 담론, 현상들을 보다 직접적이고 국지적으로 연결하는 대안적 동시대성을 도모합니다.
out_sight is an art space located near Hyehwa Rotary, open since October 2016.
out_sight aims to exhibit art (and non-art) that address issues of our contemporaneity without submitting to universal ethics or hierarchical theories, and without analysing into statistic data or abstract knowledge. For this objective, out_sight supports art that do not conform to the homogenizing system of convention and market (and non-art that bear potentials for transformation into such art). out_sight cares about things that are not subsumed under the bureaucratic structure, that are not reduced into the repetitive system of signification, and that are not compatible to the mathematical coordinate. And we also intend to consider how our intervention can redefine boundaries demarcating the discourse from the oblivion.
Based on the missions stated above, out_sight pursues radical contemporaneity in which domestic and international art workers, local and global discourses, art objects and phenomena are fluidly interconnected.
