Portrait of the Artist Ilham LARAKI OMARI With "Les Sept temps" (The Seven Times)

Painting is my passion, it inhabits me, appeases me, consoles me,

each touch is a confidence translating my affect, my desires, my expectations…

I come to light with my canvases.

Les Sept temps (The Seven Times)

Mixed media drawing including pencil, charcoal and chalk on pasteboard, Plexiglas framed, 107 x 77 cm / 42.13 x 30.32 in, 2018

Artwork displayed at the Salon du Dessin et de la Peinture à l’Eau, Grand Palais, Paris, 12th – 17th February 2019

Ilham LARAKI OMARI is a renowned international Artist born, raised and living in Morocco.
Member of the historical and prestigious French Salon d’Automne
(Autumn Salon, Champs-Elysées, Paris, France),
her artistic way has always shown quick and deeply existential evolution, as in less than ten years
After a figurative period followed by a semi figurative one, Ilham LARAKI OMARI freed herself within
a fulgurant abstraction tending to an absolute where the material consumes itself
in order to only the essential, the immaterial, to prevail.

Oil on canvas, 140 x 140 cm / 55.12 x 55.12 in, 2016

From the Earth, the soil, to the air, the Æther,

passing by the revelation of the inner core rising as the core energy of the phoenix,

Ilham LARAKI OMARI does not represent but presents both the Word and its presence

through its intangible characteristics.

She offers the magma within tending to the Skies … and reaching it!!

An inner revelation she paints, shares, a revelation which is celebrated worldwide.

A celebration of the being which contributed to spread her wings internationally as her message,

rooted in Humanity’s core,

talked, talks and will talk to every human being.

Bulle de rêves (Dreams Bubble), Perles de lumière (Pearls of Light) & Tasbih ("Cadence & rhythm in spirituality")

Oils on canvases, 140 x 140 cm / 55.12 x 55.12 in, 2014, 2015 & 2016

Yes, Ilham Laraki Omari evolves through intense phases of renewal,

Enjoys, Lives through spirals of renewal; Renewals which are all both new trunks and branches,

As she is both a tree and a forest in perpetual expansion.

Artist-tree, Artistry.

Le Sablier (The Sandglass)

Mobile sculpture; wood, Plexiglas and sieve, 70 x 208 cm / 27.56 x 81.89 in, 2016

Roots, solar plexus, breath

Are both the accomplishments and steps

Of this rare and unique Artist

Transcending all the inner boundaries we can experience Into vibrant messages of Light

Rooted in our time, our times, the Time …

Inner eye (c.f. C.D. Friedrich) emanating from a painting, a sandglass, a weave...

When vision is … Time & timeless

Tissage du temps (Time Weave)

Woven threads on wood

100 x 100 cm /39.37 x 39.37 in, 2016

Time, I couldn’t talk about it but through my artworks;

just as the moment to express it in words to determine it comes, it’s gone.

Les Temps (The Times)

Oil painting on canvas & on installations within the canvas

Counterclockwise watch’s hand, mixed media & sand;

Threads woven straight, in rotation & intermingled

120 x 120 cm / 47.24 x 47.24 in, 2018

Displayed & sold at Salon d’Automne 2018, Paris, France; Private collection

Multitalented visionary being, Ilham Laraki Omari (Who’s first name literally means Inspiration)

Leads many poems to bloom within us;

As we need water to.

Iridescences …

Blades of the snippets of the floating world.

Incandescence…stirred æther…

Candelabra of the soul

Brightened by the A by the la of the latent lava

Far beyond all temples & myths,

Celebration of the Almighty,

Prescient, crackles within the asters’ hearth

Aware nugget, the Inspiration

Iris of the Essence

Matrix of the yore-s

Driven by the shards of the mirror of Truth,

Blows the Artist the glass-verse of the being

Via the pneuma of her naked truths.

Poem composed in January 2017

Confidences d’un temps (Confidences of a time)

This painting is a part of a series of artworks dealing with time, questioning and orchestrating it
via installations, mobile sculptures and oil paintings on canvas as well.

To approach my feelings about it, I dared to even more move away from my habits to explore other horizons: touching the canvas in a different way than with a brush & some paint, working on a sometimes kinetic weave (spiral or intermingled), placing mechanisms of a watch (such as a counterclockwise watch’s hand) and other elements directly on the canvas; all under an abstraction giving free rein to anybody to interpret it via her/his own intuition.

In times because rooted in our daily conception of time too, Ilham Laraki Omari invites the viewer to live,

To see, from the Soil to the Æther via Incandescence, Breaths, Times

As the collective intimacy is made of Heart, Breath & Flight.
