About
Situated in the southwest of the Taipei Basin, Yingge is town well known in Taiwan for its rich ceramic heritage and culture. The Yingge Ceramics Museum (YCM) was opened in 2000 to preserve the town’s cultural legacy while instilling new energy into the area. The establishment of the residency program is to encourage ceramic artists, both local and global, to come and experience the life in a pottery town through a short-term residency.
Program
The 2020 Taiwan Residency Program invites artist not only to advance their practice in Yingge, but also to propose a collaboration project that can contribute to the local community (projects such as creating collaborative artworks, educational activities, outdoor installations etc.), which can create new meanings within the region. We also accept artists to team up and apply (max. 2 artists). Accepted artists not only can spend up to 3 months working in the museum’s studio, the YCM also provides a full stipend to encourage artist to engage in the international field of ceramics.
