The term “rollout” signifies the action of “creating something for the first time", and the word "roll" is one of the best words to encapsulate movement and actions in the worlds of videography or dance. Taking "ROLLOUT” as the title of this Dance Film Festival, we wish to inspire artistic creations and collaborations by people with enthusiasm while simultaneously encourage emerging artists to boost creativity through an organic platform, so that video artists, dance artists and the audience can all respond to, connect and exchange with one another through this art form.

ROLLOUT Dance Film Festival features activities which include selection screenings, focus talks, workshops and screening tours. The platform allows its members to exchange dialogues and integrate all possible discussions and developments of dance videography with one another.

Open Call

Campaign Awards:

• To encourage more creations of quality projects, ROLLOUT Dance Film Festival created a campaign session (see the rules of eligibility in Item 4.1 above) to present the following awards to outstanding dance films:
  • ROLLOUT Dance Film Jury Award (Prize: 500 USD) – the award will be given to the most outstanding dance film in the Festival based on the Jury’s evaluations made with the indicators of visual qualities, messages conveyed, originality of concept, inspirations given and the overall performance of the dance film creation.
  • ROLLOUT Jury Recommendation Award (Prize: 300 USD) – the award will be given to quality dance films recommended by the Jury based on the above indicators.
  • ROLLOUT Audience Choice Award (Prize: 300 USD) – the award will be given to the dance films with the most votes from the audience.
  • ROLLOUT Innovation Award (Price: 300 USD) – the award will be given to the dance film which employs innovative technologies or media(e.g., Virtual Reality, 360 Video, etc.) most distinctively in its production.
