Mare Karina presents À Jour, a solo exhibition by artist Simona Pavoni (San Benedetto del Tronto, 1994), curated by Giulia Mariachiara Galiano and Costanza Longanesi Cattani.

Created specifically for the space on the occasion of the ninth edition of The Venice Glass Week, the installation features works on canvas, a walk-through paper spatial intervention, a trilogy of glass sculptures, and a carpet made of organic material. Through a delicate interplay of perforations and transparencies, all elements are traversed and interconnected by a weave of light that transforms them and establishes a dialogue between them, becoming an integral part of the work itself.

Simona Pavoni’s artistic practice explores corporeality in its vital dimension — capable of generating reverberations, interactions, and exchanges between contiguous realms. Emphasizing the vulnerability of materials and their potential to resonate with one another, the artist creates immersive environments where artworks and space merge into a single body of sensitive textures and flickering luminosity. The hole — a minimal, repeated unit in her work — reflects a slow and meditative approach, evoking the rhythm of embroidery, where the act of making becomes a temporal scan.

The title À Jour — a French expression referencing both the technique of openwork and the notion of being attuned to the present — encapsulates the dual nature of the installation: an openness to temporality and a structure that is permeable to light. This tension materializes in a porous organism that is constantly renewed by the gaze, the materials, and the light passing through it.
