This is Tianjin Binhai Library in Tianjin, China. This popular library, with 15,000 visitors per day, was constructed as the part of a cultural master plan of GMP(Gerkan, Marg and Partners architekten). This place was designed by MVRDV, which is a famous Dutch architectural design company.

The design concept is a giant eye. The natural lighting of the ceiling makes the whole library feel clean because the whole background is bright and white prevail in the library. That huge ball is used for display purposes, and it also projects a variety of images on the surface.

The space size is 33,700 square meters, and it took three years to build. The five-stories tall building has an auditorium and reading space on the first floor, a conference room on the second floor, a large archive space on the basement floor.

However, the library has been criticized for its role as a library itself, as it has tended to be misused as a tourist destination by taking pictures or taking group photos in the place where people read books.
