A hands-on masterclass, led by Phoebe Cope for those looking to develop their drawing practice. Phoebe is an Irish painter living in Scotland, her work has been exhibited in The Royal Academy, Royal Hibernian Academy, Royal Scottish Academy & Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
Over the course of the week, you’ll explore the history and natural history of Dalkeith Country Park from an artist’s perspective ~ no stone will be left unturned during this inspiring hands-on workshop!
Some basic drawing materials will be provided. Though it is painting and drawing masterclass, all levels of experience are welcome.
Hugh Buchanan
Hugh Buchanan’s hometown of Edinburgh instilled a love of architecture that he has continued to develop throughout his career. Hugh’s paintings are shown in a numerous collections including Victoria and Albert Museum, Edinburgh City Art Centre and the National Trust for Scotland.
Hugh’s classes are aimed at artists with some experience of drawing. Classes start with demonstrations of drawing & watercolour techniques. You will then have the opportunity to look for subjects around Dalkeith Country Park that inspire you and put your new skills into practice. You are encouraged to discuss each other’s work at morning ‘clinics’, which many consider to be the most valuable part of the day.
