Additional Info.

The extensive installation by Gunda Gruber consists of a free-standing object with an architectural-sculptural character. It is a fragile construction made of wooden strips that appears open and permeable, but nevertheless becomes a kind of projection surface for video images.

The artist as a (film) actor intervenes in the spatial structure, but at the same time is changed and deformed by it. It appears multiplied and faceted at several points in the projection.

In Gunda Gruber's work, spatial structures are multiplied, set in motion and become permeable. Physical and psychological space interpenetrate. Construction and deconstruction are closely linked - because every construction is unstable and subject to change. The work can be seen on the one hand as dealing with the artistic work process, but on the other - from a wider perspective - as an approach to the instability of (thought) systems and social orders
