KATA SEDLAK_CHILDHOOD
8. 3. — 22. 4. 2019
The Slovak photographer Kata Sedlak transformed her day to day motherhood experience into a photographical essay filled with absolute trust and closeness of home. She captures the galloping childhood with minimal visual aspects, yet with maximum intensity. The fragility and openness of youth is growing stronger and stronger with each second and forms the perception of itself and the world around it. Through the lens of her camera, the author captures the untamable intensity of child’s emotions, experience and mutual relationships that extend beyond the format of photography. She explores the personal space and portraits the soul of a child that is completely dedicated to the present moment, all of which is depicted in just a few square meters. Her selected works from the years 2013-2019 lead us to the fragile “childhood continent” that silently sails in every single one of us.
