Using the traditional Buryat-Mongol custom of installing Ovoo Poles as monuments to represent the sacredness of the land, Margarita's artwork expresses her deep connection to her ancestral home in Southeast Siberia.
This exhibition showcases photographs, a soundscape, a short film, and oral histories, all highlighting the rich heritage and resilient nature of the Buryat-Mongol people. Margarita's art is a tribute to the vanishing traditions and landscapes of Buryatia and Northern Mongolia as she visits ancestral sites to capture the essence of Indigenous Siberia. Her artwork invites you to connect with the disappearing world of the Buryat-Mongol people.
