In his photographs, the young artist showcases architectural subjects that have been integrated into different landscapes through digital image manipulation. The outcome is a series of fictional scenarios that still maintain a sense of realism. These photographs challenge conventional perspectives and open up a world where architecture is not merely a physical structure but an integral part of a complex, newly created environment.
The exhibition invites viewers to reconsider the relationship between architecture and its surroundings. Amédé Ackermann's photos are an invitation to depart from familiar reality and embark on a visual journey of discovery.
Amédé Ackermann was born in the vicinity of Düsseldorf in 1991. After completing his education, he pursued a degree in photography at an academy in Cologne. He then gained experience in various photo studios and a PR agency, worked as a lecturer at a photography school, and served as an assistant teacher in the art department at a High School .
Today, he primarily dedicates himself to artistic photography, focusing mainly on conceptual work and frequently employing digital photo editing techniques such as photomontage. He has received multiple grants at art fairs, and in 2020, he was awarded the Art Promotion Prize by the city of Neuss. Ackermann regularly exhibits his work, with a notable participation in a group exhibition at the Edward Hopper House Museum and Study Center in New York State in December 2023. Displaying his work in the birth and residence of his idol fills him with particular pride.
