안은샘과 조은시의 2인전 《핀서 어택》의 제목이 갖는 뜻은 ‘협공’이다. 서로 다른 두 개의 부분이 모여 서로에게 의탁하면서 대상을 잡는 도구를 뜻하는 핀서처럼, 이들의 작업은 서로를 붙잡기보다 양쪽에서 조여가며 제3의 대상을 잡으려 한다. 그것은 물론 두 작가가 모두 자기만의 회화적 길을 찾아가고 있다는 점에서 회화 그 자체일 수도, 추상일 수도, 구상일 수도, 구성과 구도와 원근과 색상에 관한 것일 수도 있지만, 사실 그게 무엇인지는 전혀 중요하지 않을 수도…그러나 결국 그들의 작업은 아무것도 붙잡지 않는다. 다만 그 언저리를 계속해 맴돌 뿐이다.
