The exhibit "Collection Highlights: Synchronic Moments" explores the artistic language articulated through multichannel forms by contemporary new media artists in Korea. It centers on the new media collection at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA).
The term "synchronic," meaning "sharing the same time," provides the conceptual basis for the exhibition, examining how various elements of new media, such as video, moving images, sound and time, are highlighted through the most exquisite and refined of intersections and juxtapositions.
The exhibition presents some of the key illustrative works of new media trends in Korea today. The six diverse works are also the latest addition to the works in the new media collection of the MMCA, either being screened for the first time or rarely exhibited.
