《사선으로 교차하기》는 감각이 어떻게 분할·배치되는가에 주목하며, ‘지연’을 장치로 삼아 감각의 장에서 수평·수직 축을 교차시킨다. 이때 수평은 과거–현재–미래의 흐름과 가시/가청의 경계를, 수직은 발화권·시공간 소유 등 위계를 가리키며, 이는 자크 랑시에르(Jacques Rancière)의 ‘감성의 분할(le partage du sensible)’에 대응한다. 아홉 작가는 수평의 흐름을 재배치하고 수직의 위계를 비틀어 감각의 분할선을 사선으로 가로지른다. 이 공간에서 관람은 과정에 머무르며, 남는 것은 재배열된 감각의 지형과 세계를 다르게 감각할 수 있는 가능성이다.
