Wiping the slate clean | ARTLECTURE
  • Wiping the slate clean
    1

Shop window aesthetics, and in particular whitewashed windows and mannequins, are recurring motifs in my practice and will unify the collection of works here. Whitewashed windows prompt thoughts around touch, transition and obfuscation; whilst mannequins prompt thoughts around display, portraiture and the gaze. Collectively, these themes speak to both (art) history and mark making and (my) biography and sexuality.

Simultaneously operating as a kind of ‘mini retrospective’ and ‘studio sale’, this show will aim to clear the decks to make way for new work (some of which will be shown here) - contextualising and introducing this new work in the process: a wiping of the slate in order re-paint it again.
