This work means the story of animals that have been extinct by human selfishness. There are many kinds of animals living in the world. They are both naturally extinct and newly discovered, depending on time and environment. But I have never seriously considered how many animals are being endangered by the greed of a species called human beings. Only living things were precious and their lives should be happy, so they grieved for the animals who lost their freedom and were imprisoned, and avoided buying anything as much as fur or leather. The quest for extinct animals, which began with the great love of my two children, was of particular interest to animals that were extinct by humans. So I drew animals that have become extinct due to human actions such as habitat destruction, reckless overfishing, and the influx of disease and predators. Dokdo sea lions, Aurochs, Falkland Islands wolf, Schomburgks deer, The great auk, Laughing owl, Quagga, Dodo, Tasmanian wolf Northern white rhino, Cuban red macaw, Bluebuck, Xerces blues, Seychelles giant tortoise, Lesser bilbys, The golden toad. The animals in the painting do not feel alive, but rather realize death, as if they see stuffed animals over glass looking sad and disenfigured. No matter how well I draw, the animals that eventually disappeared were unable to return and completed the work to remember their names.

Bongrimm refers to all of the works of artist Shin Doo-young.
My artworks are inspired by MinHwa(Korean Folk painting) and focused on storytelling, not just on the colors, shapes, composition. It is the point that my drawings have stories.
I am interested in natural materials such as animals and plants, also hopes these paintings communicate and share joy with all age group, especially children.
From now on, bongrimm will try to produce products that can be enjoyed in various contents as well as in floor plan using works.
