It seems like the stories we grow up with and watch on move screens about the never ending dance of light and dark, good vs. evil, and people against people has turned a harsh reality over the past few years. And it is becoming more and more clear to anyone that our futures, our social contracts and our sense of personal security are not as steady and predictable, as we want to believe, to give our lives a sense of security and purpose. But not everything is turmoil, threats and geopolitics. There is also the good moments and the hope and light, that we can create and witness day by day, if we dare to see it and open our eyes and hearts to our environment and the people around us. Many people in our communities and especially our essential workers have done the impossible to support, rescue and uplift their families and all of us.

After a  year abroad, the artist returned to NYC in the spring of 2022, with new hope and inspiration. Motivated by the first “half real - almost normal” summer after the pandemic, the artist created a series of beautiful, joyful and uplifting collages about the special feel and spirit of the American Summer. “Some Thing like Summer” is a call for hope, friendship and community, inviting us to see the stars within the sky. EB’s works are talk about magical nights, stars, salty skin, road trips and the salty taste of the wind on our beaches. Summer time in the US, is when the light is golden and people are outside healing from their hard work, their worries and the long and often cold winter month. It is is sacred and beautiful. Everything and everyone looks a little more radiant and joyful. People are healing their wounds and souls in the sun light. “Something like Summer” is a meditation on the beauty of the American Summer, American people, and long summer nights.
