<동대문패션의 시작, 평화시장>은 청계천변의 대표적인 상업시설인 평화시장에 관한 전시이다. 1960~70년대를 중심으로 평화시장의 탄생과 이후에 끼친 영향, 그리고 그 시절 평화시장의 사람들을 소개하고 그 의미를 재조명한다. 전시를 통해 동대문 일대가 세계적 의류 및 패션 중심지로 성장하게 된 과정과 그 출발점이자 중심에는 평화시장이 있었다는 것을 알 수 있다.
