Hilma af Klint: Paintings for the Future
"Hilma af Klint: Paintings for the Future" is the first major solo exhibition in the United States devoted to Hilma af Klint, a long-underrecognized innovator of abstract art. More than 165 of af Klint’s bold works will fill the Guggenheim’s rotunda, with a focus on the artist’s breakthrough years, 1906–20. It was during this period that she began to produce abstract and stunningly imaginative paintings, creating a singular body of work that invites a reevaluation of modernism and its development. "Hilma af Klint: Paintings for the Future" is on view October 12, 2018–April 23, 2019 at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. Learn more at www.guggenheim.org/hilmaafklint
