‘Fake Abstract’ has realized paintings in which the subjects are just in part revealed behind the color...

This female portraits (which might be called, kind of, Classical Art) are hidden behind certain colors. 'Fake Abstract' series, by Spanish artist Lino Lago, reveals his subject matter by discovering paintings that are partially hidden from the colors. In other words, ‘Fake Abstract’ has realized paintings in which the subjects are just in part revealed behind the color.

He layers splashes of color over realistic oil-painted portraits creating a palimpsest of the old and the new. What's interesting here is whether the hidden ancient mystical figures were painted before these abstracts were done or first expressed itself on the space that appears between images.

Although it is left up to the viewer's choice to taking something off a surface and discover its real nature, he seems to have felt a strong curiosity and pleasure from it. However, it will result in no problem at all whatever it is. This is because Lino Lago’s philosophy Of Abstract and Realist Art is already derived from his artworks.
