The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) is one of the world’s leading animation events providing screenings, exhibits, workshops and entertainment since 1976. OIAF is an annual five-day event bringing art and industry together in a vibrant hub.  This year the event is taking its screenings and talks online with extended dates from September 23 to October 4.

The Ottawa International Animation Festival will always have a special place in my heart. I was first introduced to the festival in 1996 by Amy Kravitz and Steven Subotnick when they took our RISD senior class to the festival.

That year and every year that I have attended, I make amazing new friends, witness some of the best animation the world has to offer, and participate in some fantastic debauchery. I try to come every year I can and every time I do I am reminded why I love animation and the people who love it, watch it, and create it.

My inspiration for the poster was festival-goers trying to get a front row seat for one of the best animation festivals in the world. Please don't follow their bad behavior.

Le Festival international d'animation d'Ottawa aura toujours une place toute particulière dans mon coeur. J'ai été introduit au Festival pour la première fois en 1996 par Amy Kravitz et Steven Subotnick quand ils ont emmené notre classe au Festival durant notre dernière année d'études à RISD.

Cette année-là et chaque année que j'y suis allé, je rencontre de nouveaux amis incroyables, regarde la meilleure animation du monde, et participe à des moments merveilleusement débauches. J'essaye de revenir chaque année que je peux, et chaque fois que je le fais, l'expérience me rappelle pourquoi j'adore l'animation et ceux qui l'aiment, la suivent, et la créent.

Ma motivation pour l'affiche est une foule de personnes qui essaient d'obtenir une place au premier rang pour l'un des meilleurs festivals d'animation du monde. Ne suivez pas leur mauvais comportements.
