In the exhibition, Bahrami explores her experience as an Iranian woman facing new and different limitations in a new country as she reflects on memories from of her home country juxtaposed onto her current reality through a series of photographs, textile and mixed media works. Bahrami will also be creating a special on-site installation to recreate a moment of reflection for the viewer.
Katayoun Bahrami (b. 1981, Tehran, Iran) received her MA in Arts and Cultural Management-Museum Studies from Michigan State University and her BFA from the University of Science and Culture in Tehran. Currently, she is perusing her MFA in Studio Arts at California College of the Arts. Her work has been included in a number of exhibitions, nationally and internationally.
