For 10 years Recife is connected with the international contemporary animation production. Year after year, Animage updates the public with the best short and feature films released around the world. If wasn't for Animage the large majority of these films would never hit the screens in town. The festival offers moments of fun and reflection to audiences of various ages, besides promoting artistic interchange with workshops and academic activities.
Renowned artists and new ones, who later would become widely recognized, have participated at the festival throughout this decade. Animage tunes with artistic avant-garde while, at the same time, recovers classics of infinite richness. Its programme reinforces and consolidates its own identity emphasizing original authorship year after year.
