As Oxfordshire Artweeks draws closer each year, the city becomes awash with flags of blue and yellow, as nearly 500 artist studios and exhibitions open their doors as part of the UK’s largest arts festival in May. Watercolour painter Hanna Ross floods onto the scene early this year with her solo exhibition ‘Colour & Line’. Her vibrant yet delicate studies of wildlife and historical buildings caught the attention of Oxfordshire Artweeks Directors last year, amongst the many works featured in our annual Oxford Open, and it’s easy to see why.
Hanna lives outside of Oxford, but finds the city a constant source of novelty, dynamism and inspiration. Much of the exhibition applies Hanna’s typically vibrant colour palette to scenes and details she’s discovered during her trips to the city – be it a street scene or something glimpsed in a shop window. Step inside Hanna’s world and find yourself immersed in ‘Colour & Line’ at The Jam Factory from 8th April - 27th May.
