The first major solo exhibition in the United States of the work of artist Hilma af Klint has opened to much acclaim. A contemporary of Vasily Kandinsky, Piet Mondrian, and Kazimir Malevich, af Klint began to explore abstraction years before her male counterparts but kept her groundbreaking art largely private. Only recently have her paintings and works on paper begun to receive serious attention. Experience the radical world of Hilma af Klint in the iconic Guggenheim rotunda.
Hilma af Klint: Paintings for the Future is on view through April 23, 2019 at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.
