"This series encapsulates my feeling, that for us as humans the best days might be behind us. It is an exploration of the disappearance of optimism, a new deep melancholy that separates us from the people we could feel close to. To find a glance of hope in times like this, we need to take a longer look: The whimsical often hides behind a sad curtain. Working through crisis after crisis on an international level, feeling unsafe, while being more and more detached in my personal life leaves me with a deep longing for easier days. In my work I imbed this feeling into the allegory of a party that resembles life: Something that passed the zenith, is messy and tragic, but in the mess lies a freedom to explore and to build something new out of it. Woven deep into Berlins subculture, I created a story of escalated parties while bringing them to a halt. For me, it combines the dream of escaping reality into a colorful parallel universe. In here, I can play and find out how to move closer to life itself. These are staged scenes, lightpainted into the dark moments of life."

Lara Wilde dances in her projects between the themes of raw human emotions and the complexity of the outside world. As a photographer and psychologist, she is interested in what moves us as humanity on an individual level. Her light painting dissects reality, distorts it, and yet leaves it untouched. In the image making a documentary approach, her works are themselves lifted out of life and put on display as if on a stage. Winning the title of ND people photographer of the year, the Vonovia award for photography and being on the shortlist for the sony world photography awards as well as the Zeiss Photography award, she had her first solo exhibition at Bickblikk Gallery in Norway. Group exhibitions in the Bochum Kunstmuseum, Kommunale Gallerie Berlin or Somerset House in London followed.

The event space, the Forderzimmer, is a place for cultural encounters in Pankow. In addition to workshops and exhibitions, it also hosts window performances and general nonsense.
